Arbor Trails Winery History

Arbor Trails Winery

Arbor Trails Winery opened May 1, 2004. Nebraska’s first cooperative winery, featuring products from the fruit of southeast Nebraska and the hands of southeastern Nebraskans.

The Southeast Nebraska Alternative Crops Association Cooperative (SENACA) is a diverse group of grape producers drawn together by a mutual desire to improve the profitability and future of their individual grape growing businesses. These desires, coupled with our intent to reintroduce vineyards to Nebraska’s historical fruit-growing region led us to formalize our cooperative.

Driving through the rolling hills and forested river bluffs of southeast Nebraska, one can see the newest facet of diversified agriculture Nebraska has to offer – wine grape vineyards. We are seeing the greatest resurgence of grape production since the demise of the industry nearly 80 years ago.

SENACA members are a primary part of the renewal of this industry and they are proud to be associated with the fine winery tradition that has been a part of Nebraska’s history.

Travel down a tree-lined gravel road…and go back in time. You will find our winery in an old school house on a hill nestled in the trees of beautiful Nebraska City, NE.

Inside this historic 1939 W.P.A. – built school is where proud Nebraska growers produce wine crafted from the fruits of Nebraska. We have a tasting room and gift area upstairs and do production downstairs. Come visit us and enjoy our wines along with one of our cheese and fruit baskets.
